Mickelson & Mahan clinch spots on Ryder Cup team

Phil Mickelson and Hunter Mahan have clinched berths on the US Team for the 38th Ryder Cup matches.

Mickelson has led the US team points list throughout 2010 and will make his eighth consecutive Ryder Cup appearance. Mahan locked up a spot on his second US Ryder Cup Team with his victory at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.

Based on the point system, six more US players will qualify for the Team after this week’s PGA Championship. The PGA Championship, the season's final major, rewards two Ryder Cup points for every $1,000 earned, and all US players making the cut will earn points.

US Team Captain Corey Pavin will select the remaining four players to fill the 12 man roster on September 7th in New York City.  But everyone is wonding…will Tiger Woods be included?
